A Warm Welcome

The Barn

Stepping into the workshop, you will be able to see everything that goes on behind the scene of a framer. With high ceiling and original beams from the old barn, it is perfect creative environment where your frame is produced. You will see all the equipment required and space where your frame is made. All aspects of the frames are made onsite including mount boards and glass cutting.

On display, there is a large variety of carefully selected frame moulding chevrons to admire and will help you find your desired frame. Showcased on the large workbench, mountboard chevrons are on hand to pair with your chosen frame moulding and artwork. Glazing (glass) examples are displayed to show the effect it can create.

Framing is not just 4 bits of woods, we promise!

Bespoke framing is more then just four bits of wood. There are four levels of framing which are assorted with the Fine Art Guild. This enables you to chose with how much or little you would like to safe guard your picture, while ensuring it does not get damaged over time. We believe in conservation of art work so will be following the Fine Art Trade Guild standards.  While working to such standards, the aim is to become a certified Guild framer.

The joy for creating a personalised frame, allows you to add an additional wow factor which can also be used as a means of conserving your artwork or photograph. Simple enhancements could be the glazing used from standard float glass to anti- UV or reflective glass; to the type of mountboard used or even using a thicker mountboard. Why not go the extra mile when creating your bespoke frame? Make it unique. Consider some finishing touches with a V-grove; a hand painted wash finish or the classic hand drawn ruled line.

Speciality glass elevates picture framing by protecting and enhancing your artwork while maintaining visual clarity. Options include UV-filtering glass to guard colours from fading, museum-grade low-iron glass for virtually invisible clarity, anti-reflective glass to reduce glare in bright rooms, and conservation glass designed to prevent chemical damage over time.

Photographs and watercolours benefit most from strong UV protection; fine art and items where colour fidelity matters gain from low-iron glass; and frames displayed under spotlights or large windows are well suited to anti-reflective glass. For valuable or delicate works, conservation-grade glass offers both protection and longevity.
